Developing Your Very Own Membership Site

If you are looking forward to scale your business to 6, then 7 figures over the next 12 months then you need to focus on two very different business models. What you are doing to get you to 6 figures, is very different to what you need to do to get to 7 figures.

You need to SCALE and stop trading time for money. One of the number one ways I work with my clients to scale from 6, to 7 figures is by building a Membership site

Subscription models have been around for quite some time and with audiences searching for consistently fresh content, then a membership site could be the perfect solution.

If you are looking to move the needle in your business, developing a membership site could be exactly what you need. From a consistent and reliable income every month, strengthening your relationships, community and building yourself as an authority in your field, this could be the next chapter in your business growth.

1. Giving meaningful value

Memberships are the perfect way to give meaningful value to your members, by providing them with highly valuable content, education, information, resources, motivation, encouragement and inspiration to help them reach their own goals. Remember, people buy an end-result, they don’t buy a module in your course or a strategy session on the phone with you; they buy the END RESULT, the TRANSFORMATION.

“If you make your business about helping others, you’ll always have plenty of work.” Chris Guillebeau

2. Rely on a consistent income Running a membership site gives you the opportunity to generate recurring revenue. I encourage my clients to offer a yearly one-off payment (a little cheaper) and then a monthly subscription fee to ensure that they can scale their business quickly after we launch their membership site.

Another great feature of a membership site, is it is means you can consistently build on your revenue every time you get more signups.

3. You have a pre-qualified audience for marketing* This is an excellent way to engage further with your audience, as you have a captivated audience that is are already interested enough in the types of content you are providing, so you can now take this a step further and integrate re-targeting and segmented marketing. Have a new book to sell or business summit to promote? You have an audience ready to learn more about what it is you are selling and buy from you.

In addition, you have an audience that is paying to consume your content and that is very different to an audience that is downloading other content for free. Therefore, you are in the perfect position to upsell, whether it is 1:1 Coaching, Consulting, paid webinars etc. You have an audience that has a higher level of commitment and passion as they have made a financial investment in your membership site and thus, are going to be more responsive to upselling.

4. Foster relationships, community and customer loyalty

One of my favourite things about having a membership site is the community that we create, it is our very own tribe of amazing Business Owners. Running a membership site allows you to create an environment that fosters communication between the members themselves, you and the members and develop relationships that are focused on connection and collaboration and build a loyal customer base.

You have the opportunity and capability for exponential growth and vertical scalability, as there is no limit to new members that you can acquire. It is definitely one of the most lucrative options when it comes to scaling your business quickly. You don’t need a large investment to grow, as you can easily scale without changing your core operations.

5. Build yourself as an authority in your field

When you run a membership site, you essentially announce to the world that you’re a specialist within your niche. After all, why should your members pay you if you don’t have *some* kind of authority on your given topic(s)? This doesn’t necessarily mean that you must have traditional credentials, degrees, or any “official” form of approval; rather, you simply must be producing volumes of valuable content, be it products, articles, videos, guides, or other resources. Because running a membership site is based on this body of work, it establishes your expertise and your industry authority, which only grows stronger over time as you add more and more to your site.

6. Your value constantly increases As you grow your member base and body of work, your site becomes more and more valuable, with a continually increasing amount of premium content to offer prospective members. You might even see your efforts snowball until you end up with a well-oiled machine of a site that feeds back into itself!

As you add more content, your site and community grows, more people sign up, increasing your revenue and freeing up your time to create even more content, which attracts additional signups, and so on.
